Branding 10, 000 Lakes: Lake logos have a tendency to be, well, fairly ugly. This project was created to rethink what they could be. One Minnesota Lake. One Logo. Everyday.
50 & 50 is a curated project which attempts to construct a handsome new way of looking at the USA. Fifty designers, one per state, have illustrated their state motto, creating something steeped in history but completely modern and unique.

Britain’s conceptual shoe designer Nicholas Kirkwood has unveiled a collaboration with the archival foundation of the late pop artist Keith Haring, transforming his iconic designs into fantastical boots, sandals and rollerskates.

Today’s Google logo is brought to you by Monte Verde Elementary School student Matteo Lopez, 7, the U.S. winner of this year’s Doodle 4 Google contest. Lopez, a South San Francisco resident, created a whimsical logo he calls “Space Life.” The marker and colored pencil drawing depicts an imaginative trip to the moon, complete with an alien encounter. The picture beat out more than 107,000 submissions and topped the list of over 5 million votes. Google also awarded Lopez a netbook computer, a $15,000 college scholarship and a $25,000 technology grant for his school.
